Veterinarians
Paula Baker, DVM
|
|
Dr. Paula Baker has been part of the Allandale community since
graduating from Texas A&M in 1985. Initially employed as an associate
veterinarian, she is now the owner of Allandale Veterinary Clinic. This
new role fulfills a lifelong dream to have an enriching career practicing
high quality veterinary medicine as well as having a positive impact on the
local community. She and her family live near the clinic and are proud to
call Allandale and Austin home.

Catherine Lee, DVM
|
|
Dr. Catherine Lee is a 2000 graduate of the University of Missouri's
College of Veterinary Medicine. She moved to Texas shortly after graduation
and worked in a mixed animal practice her first year out of school. Dr. Lee
then decided to concentrate specifically on canine and feline surgery and
medicine. She has been working at Allandale Veterinary Clinic since January
of 2002. Her special interests include ophthalmology and surgery. Dr Lee and
her husband, also a veterinarian, share their home with two Doberman
Pinschers, a Great Dane and 3 cats. In their free time they enjoy travel
and Dr. Lee competes in marathons and triathlons.

Kerry Weisz, DVM
|
|
Dr. Kerry Weisz is a 2006 graduate of Oklahoma State College of Veterinary
Health Sciences. After graduation, she completed a one-year small animal
internship at the California Animal Hospital in Los Angeles working with
specialist in internal medicine, cardiology, neurology, surgery and
dentistry. Dr. Weisz started working at Allandale Veterinary Clinic in
August of 2007 and is very excited to be here and looking forward to getting
to know Austin.

Office Staff
Terri Walls

|
Terri has lived in Austin since 1976. Before coming to Allandale,
Terri was a pediatric nurse and surgical technician in the human medical
field. Terri decided to switch to the veterinary field because of her love
of animals. She has been with Allandale Veterinary Clinic since May 2001 and
is the current Office Manager. Terri is the proud mom of a U.S. Army Reserve
Soldier and a boy crazy tenth grade daughter. Terri loves the Texas outdoors.
She enjoys camping and hiking, and manages to squeeze in some sewing.

Betsy Schulz
|
|
Betsy has lived in the Allandale/Crestview neighborhood for 19 years
and has been working with animals, in one way or another, for most of
that time. After working as a veterinary assistant for 4 years, she
went on to pursue a degree in Microbiology from UT. She has been an
active volunteer in the animal rescue community, providing home care
for dogs with special medical needs and temporary shelter for dogs
in need of permanent homes. Her path led her back to Allandale
Veterinary Clinic in July of 2003. Betsy and her husband share their
home with 3 cats and several former shelter dogs.

Elizabeth Boasso
|
|
Elizabeth began working with small animals as a groomer's assistant
in 2000. Realizing her gift, she decided to apply for a position at an animal
hospital. There she worked as the groomer and veterinary assistant until
moving to Florida in 2003. Liz was employed at McAbee Veterinary Hospital as
a surgery assistant. Originally from Louisiana, she has been a Texas resident
since the summer of 2004. Now, Mrs. Chris Boasso, is proud to be an employee
at Allandale Veterinary Clinic where she can continue learning about animal
medicine. She and her husband care for two cats, Seldom and Dubbs, and Lucy,
a dalmation rescued from Florida.

Lisa Taylor
|
|
Lisa Taylor has been working as a Vet Tech since high school. She
joined the team at Allandale during the summer of 2005. Lisa is a senior at
the University of Texas and is pursuing a major in Biology with an English
minor. In her spare time she enjoys playing bass and piano and spending
time with her 4 crazy dogs.

Rachel Juve
|
|
Rachel Juve began working at Allandale Veterinary Clinic the summer of
2006. Rachel has worked in the veterinary field for over three years. She
recently wed in August 2007. Rachel has lived in Austin most of her
life. Rachel's pets include 2 cats, 1 dog, 1 guinea pig and lots of fish.

Kathryn Cummins
|
|
Kathryn, also known as KC, began working at Allandale Veterinary Clinic
in May of 2001 shortly before earning her B.S. degree in Zoology from the
University of Texas. She is the proud mom of two beautiful girls, Audrey and
Beverly, and a handsome son, Clay. KC now spends most of her time at home but
she enjoys the opportunity to continue to contribute to AVC when she can.

Brad Baker
|
|
Brad is a student at McCallum High School where he participates in
football, band and honor academics. Brad is Dr. Baker's son. He enjoys
vacations and outings with his family such as camping, scuba diving and
hunting.

Miranda Shackelford
|
|
Miranda, a native Texan, lived in New York for the past four years
but decided to return to the Lone Star State where she happily joined
Allandale Veterinary Clinic staff October 2006.

Cassie Smith
|
|
Cassie has been a part of the Allandale Veterinary Clinic team since
September 2006. Before moving to Austin for school she gained veterinary
assistant experience in Tyler, Texas.
|
Shannon Bryant
|
|
Shannon Bryant graduated from the University of Illinois with a
Bachelor's degree in Animal Sciences in May of 2007. Shortly thereafter, she
joined the Allandale team as a receptionist. She enjoys spending time with
her dog Tater and her cat Shadow. Recently engaged, she would like to spend
many years in Austin working to benefit the lives of animals.

Trent Gibson
|
|
Trent has worked in veterinary clinics since high school and has been
a technician since 2003. Although a Texas native, he lived in Colorado for
nearly 8 years. He lived in Steamboat Springs where he spent most of his
time outdoors snowboarding, camping, and enjoying the mountains. In Denver
he achieved his certificate as a veterinary technician and began his
schooling towards a biology degree. Planning to attend Veterinary School at
A&M he continues his education at Huston-Tillotson University, downtown
Austin, where he is also on the golf team. Trent enjoys outdoor activities
in and around the Austin area. He shares this enjoyment with his future wife
Adrienne and her two beautiful daughters, Sabrina and Lily. His pets
include a Boxer, Chihuahua/Dachshund mix, Quaker Parrot, and 2 corn snakes.

Nick Lavas
|
|
Nick Lavas has worked in the veterinary field since 2001. He is
happily married to his wife who is a veterinarian practicing in Austin. They
live by the lake with three dogs, two cats, and a bunch of fish. In his spare
time Nick likes to go primitive hiking and camping.
