Veterinarians
Paula Baker, DVM
Dr. Paula Baker has been part of the Allandale community since graduating from Texas A&M in 1985. Initially employed as an associate veterinarian, she is now the owner of Allandale Veterinary Clinic. This role fulfills a lifelong dream to have an enriching career practicing high quality veterinary medicine as well as having a positive impact on the local community. She and her family live near the clinic and are proud to call Allandale and Austin home. Find out more about Dr. Baker.
Kerry Weisz, DVM
Dr. Kerry Weisz is a 2006 graduate of Oklahoma State College of Veterinary Health Sciences. After graduation, she completed a one-year small animal internship at the California Animal Hospital in Los Angeles working with specialists in internal medicine, cardiology, neurology, surgery and dentistry. Dr. Weisz started working at Allandale Veterinary Clinic in August of 2007 and is very excited to be here and looking forward to getting to know Austin.
Mary Skiles, DVM
Dr Mary Skiles graduated from University of California at Davis in 1989. She worked as an associate for 9 years then started practicing as an independent contractor doing relief (fill-in) work in California. In 2003, she moved to Austin and continued her relief veterinary career at several clinics, starting with Allandale VC in 2006. In January, 2010, Dr Skiles began practicing full time at Allandale VC. With her background of working at 64 hospitals in California and 39 in Texas, she brings a very broad range of experience and expertise. Many clients especially appreciate her thoroughness and straight forward nature. Find out more about Dr. Skiles.
Rachel Croughwell DVM
Dr. Rachel Croughwell has been practicing at Allandale Veterinary Clinic since December 2011. A native of Durham, North Carolina, she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. After completing veterinary school, Dr. Croughwell practiced in Charleston, South Carolina prior to moving to Austin. In their spare time, Dr. Croughwell and her fiance Dr. Mike Cocchiaro enjoy spending time with their three Labrador retrievers, hiking, kayaking and exploring Austin.
Office Staff
Terri
Terri has lived in Austin since 1976. Before coming to Allandale, Terri was a pediatric nurse and surgical technician in the human medical field. Terri decided to switch to the veterinary field because of her love of animals. She has been with Allandale Veterinary Clinic since May 2001 and is the current Office Manager. Terri is the proud mom of Jared and Sara.
Elizabeth
Elizabeth began working with small animals as a groomer’s assistant in 2000. Realizing her gift, she decided to apply for a position at an animal hospital. There she worked as the groomer and veterinary assistant until moving to Florida in 2003. Liz was employed at McAbee Veterinary Hospital as a surgery assistant. Originally from Louisiana, she has been a Texas resident since the summer of 2004. Liz is proud to be an employee at Allandale Veterinary Clinic where she can continue learning about animal medicine. She and her husband care for two cats, Seldom and Dubbs, and Lucy, a dalmation rescued from Florida.
Rachel
Rachel began working at Allandale Veterinary Clinic the summer of 2006. Rachel has worked in the veterinary field for several years. She recently had a baby boy, Tyler. Rachel has lived in Austin most of her life. Rachel’s pets include 1 cat and 2 dogs, and lots of fish.
Brad
Brad is a student at Texas A&M where he is currently in his sophomore year . Brad is Dr. Baker’s son. He enjoys vacations and outings with his family such as camping, scuba diving and hunting.
Miranda
Miranda, a native Texan, lived in New York for the past four years but decided to return to the Lone Star State where she happily joined Allandale Veterinary Clinic staff October 2006.
Christina
Christina was born and raised in Austin, Texas. She has been a part of the Allandale Veterinary Clinic team since July 2008. She enjoys camping, swimming, and outdoor activities. She shares her home with a Boxer,Roxy, and a Maine Coon, Flip.
Bill
Bill Rix joined the Allandale team in April 2009. After graduating from Texas State University Bill moved to Austin to pursue a job in the animal health care field. He is a veterinary assistant and is in charge of the laboratory and pharmacy areas. His attention to detail and organizational skills make him a welcome addition to the team.
Tom
Tom joined the Allandale team in June 2009. As the son of a veterinarian Tom has over 20 years experience in this field. Tom has been in Austin for 5 years and has a crazy jack russell terrier named Jynx that takes up plenty of his time.
Beth
Beth moved to Austin from Maine in the summer of 2007. After some encouragement from her husband, Dean, she made a career change and joined the Allandale team in the spring of 2010. Currently, she is studying to take the state and national veterinary technician licensing exam. In her spare time she likes to enjoy the beautiful Texas weather her husband and two dogs, Max and Ellie.
